Liberal Billionaire Praises Trump’s “Grace and Courage” During Assassination Attempt

(UnitedVoice.com) – Former President Donald Trump survived the first assassination attempt on a president in decades. One man died in the shooting and two others were injured. The country rallied around the Republican nominee and celebrated his survival. Among them was Jeff Bezos, the billionaire liberal founder of Amazon.

On July 13, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks allegedly shot Trump in the upper part of his right ear during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Videos of the event showed the former POTUS grab his ear and drop to the ground. Secret Service agents piled on top of him seconds later and protected him from more gunfire.

Later that night, Bezos posted about the shooting on X, formerly Twitter. He said America’s “former President showed tremendous grace and courage under literal fire” at the rally. Bezos said that he was “thankful” that Trump was safe and “so sad for the victims and their families.”

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) identified Corey Comperatore as the attendee who died in the shooting. He was the former fire chief for the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company. According to reports, he died while diving on top of his family to protect them. The governor described the man as a “girl dad” who regularly attended church and was an “avid supporter” of Trump.

While Bezos had something nice to say about Trump, others pointed out that his newspaper, The Washington Post, has regularly attacked the former president. For example, in December, the newspaper published a column that stated, “Yes, it’s okay to compare Trump to Hitler.”

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, before anything was known about the incident, the newspaper ran a headline that said, “Trump leaves rally after loud noises erupt.” Someone was dead, and the former president and two others suffered injuries. It’s safe to say it was more than “loud noises.”
